19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player won his first championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and finally splitting with former trainer Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This represents his maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his skill to play at the top level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to serve for the match.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
