I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
